The 96WT7A564BB Compact-Design Concentric Hydraulic Clutch Release Bearing is mounted around the transmission input shaft, right in front of the clutch. When the driver presses the clutch pedal, hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder flows into this component, pushing a piston that presses against the clutch diaphragm spring. This action separates the clutch plate from the flywheel, allowing the driver to shift gears smoothly.
Compared to the older mechanical fork-and-bearing setup, this concentric design takes up less space inside the bell housing, reduces the number of moving parts, and lowers the chance of misalignment. That's also why it's called "compact-design" — it fits into a tighter space while still delivering reliable clutch engagement.
