How the Slave Cylinder Works — and Why It Fails
The clutch slave cylinder sits downstream of the master cylinder in the hydraulic clutch circuit. When the driver depresses the clutch pedal, pressurized fluid travels from the master cylinder through the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder. The internal piston extends, pushing the release fork which separates the clutch disc from the flywheel — allowing gear selection without drivetrain shock.
On Chery platforms, the slave cylinder is externally mounted to the transmission bellhousing. This external position makes it accessible for visual inspection and replacement without removing the gearbox — a practical advantage in independent workshop environments where labor time directly affects repair economics.
Slave cylinder failure on Chery manual transmission vehicles typically follows a predictable pattern. Internal seal degradation begins gradually, causing micro-bypass of hydraulic fluid past the piston. Early stages produce subtle symptoms — a slightly lower pedal engagement point, minor inconsistency in clutch feel between cold and hot operation. As seal wear progresses, bypass increases and hydraulic pressure output drops. Eventually the piston can no longer generate sufficient stroke to fully disengage the clutch, leading to gear selection difficulty, clutch drag under load, or complete loss of clutch function.
Failure symptoms by stage:
Early: Clutch bite point creeps lower over weeks; pedal feel slightly spongy on first press
Mid: Gear changes require more pedal travel; harder to find neutral at traffic stops
Late: Pedal drops toward floor; clutch won't disengage fully; fluid visible near bellhousing mount
Critical: Complete hydraulic failure; vehicle unable to select gears with engine running
Identifying failure at the early or mid stage prevents secondary damage to the release fork, release bearing, and transmission input shaft seal — all of which can be affected by a slave cylinder operating outside its designed stroke range.
OEM / ODM Private Label Service
XUI4106A-1 supports full private label customization. For distributors serving Russian or CIS Chery aftermarket channels, Cyrillic-language packaging and regional barcode formats are available. For Latin American markets, Spanish and Portuguese dual-language pack configurations can be arranged. Seal compound selection is adjustable for operating environment — standard formulations for temperate climates, upgraded compounds for high-humidity tropical markets.
Workflow: Sample confirmation → Specification approval → Mass production → Private label packaging → Shipment
Market Application
Russia & CIS — Chery Amulet (A15 export name) and Tiggo T11 were among the best-selling Chinese vehicles in Russia through the late 2000s; as these vehicles pass 15 years of service age, clutch hydraulic replacement demand is entering its highest-volume period
Latin America — Eastar, E5, Fengyun 2, and Tiggo models were distributed across Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina; independent workshops servicing these vehicles represent the primary buyer segment
Middle East — Chery Eastar and Tiggo T11 were widely distributed through regional Chery networks in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and surrounding markets; aftermarket manufacturing is now the sole supply channel for hydraulic clutch components on these platforms
Europe (DR market) — The Tiggo DR European Edition sold through Italy's DR Motor Company shares this slave cylinder specification; Italian and Eastern European DR specialist aftermarket distributors are an active demand segment
